Blizzard is making some major changes to Diablo 4’s endgame progression in preparation for the upcoming seasonal event, Abattoir of Zir. The event is so difficult that Blizzard is concerned that players may not be able to complete the final tier. To address this, the developer is making it easier to improve characters and Glyphs, the game’s endgame progression system.

Glyph XP Changes

One of the biggest changes in Diablo 4 patch 1.2.3 is the increase in Glyph XP from Nightmare Dungeons. Glyphs are powerful endgame items that can significantly enhance a player’s build. However, they can be slow to level up, especially at higher tiers. In patch 1.2.3, the Glyph XP from Nightmare Dungeons will be increased by up to 50% for tiers 18 and above. This should make it much easier for players to max out their Glyphs and prepare for the Abattoir of Zir.

Abattoir of Zir

The Abattoir of Zir is a 25-tier event that will test players’ limits. In each tier, enemies will be 55 levels higher than the player. Players will only have 10 minutes and one life to complete each tier. If they succeed, they will receive bragging rights and a new Tears of Blood Glyph. This Glyph will rapidly increase a player’s damage output as it is leveled up, making it a powerful tool for climbing through the tiers.
